FROM THE SCIENCE ROOM
Ken Williams
Technology remains at the forefront here in the 7th and
8th grades. I hope everyone saw the recent Channel 6
news story put together by Don Carrigan. It is so much
fun to see Nobleboro students on camera telling the
world that good things happen here at school. The
computers are replacing much of the paper in classes
and one thing that all parents or guardians can do is ask
their 7th or 8th grader to show off an electronic
notebook. One of the 8th grade reading classes was
recently introduced to blogging. Podcasts are on the
way as well. Even though student work is being
electronically created and stored I have concluded that
students are writing more than ever. This fits in
completely with the focus on literacy here at school.
Remember, though, there is also “literacy” around
technology and NCS students have rich opportunities in
this arena. Thanks go to our Tech Guru Linda Taylor
and Principal Deblois for always encouraging
technological applications.
